  The new writings, composed primarily of the Gospels and the Epistles, were distributed widely in the Greek language. It seems fairly certain that the Gospels of Luke and John, the Book of Acts, the Epistles, and the Book of Revelation were originally written in Greek, but what about the Gospels of Matthew and Mark? The Futurist or Eschatological Approach claims that nothing in Revelation from chapter 4 until the end of the book has been fulfilled yet. Instead, the entire book will be fulfilled at some time immediately preceding the second coming of Christ and the end of the world. The first suggestions of an apocalypse within the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) is found in the books of Isaiah, Jeremiah, Amos, and discussed the coming "day of Yahweh."Many dozens of apocalyptic books appeared during the period BCE to the destruction of the Jerusalem temple in 70 CE.
